Veranda Resorts - Corporate
The history of Veranda Resorts
The story of Veranda Resorts started in 1982 when two leading figures in Mauritian tourism (Michel Pitot and Guy Hugnin) decided to launch a new hotel concept and created the Veranda Bungalow Village. It was a straightforward concept, “to give visitors the opportunity of living as Mauritians do during their stay on the island”, but was highly innovative at the time as Mauritius was focussing on luxury hotels.
Following on the amazing success of the Véranda Bungalow Village, the concept has grown and so after 20 years the initial project has been transformed into a fully fledged hotel group that is 100% Mauritian.
Today, with 6 hotels, Véranda Resorts is a landmark in the tourism landscape of Mauritius, where one can still encounter the family atmosphere and respect for Mauritian traditions and customs, ones which are associated with the wonderful savoir-faire and the art of a truly professional hotelier.
The Veranda Resorts Hotels
Each hotel of Veranda Resorts exudes a particular charm, with its own history, its special location place, and staffed by attentive personnel.
Hotels that refresh and revitalise you, just the two of you or with your family, in an exclusive atmosphere that never forgets the human dimension, and where you can feel “at home” in a warm and uncomplicated atmosphere, restful and relaxing.

Veranda Resorts is the hotel division of the Rogers Group, a Mauritian company founded in 1899.
Rogers has played and still plays a major role in the development of the Mauritian economy. A pioneer in several sectors, including civil aviation, tourism and maritime transport, Rogers knows, since October 2005, a new dynamic with a group focused on the heart of its business, tourism and logistics. It is now organized into five divisions: Aviation, Hotels, Leisure, Logistics and Shipping. Each division develops and manages a portfolio of leading brands, local and international.
The group has a portfolio of various investments. The main one being Cim Group, an investment of 100% of Rogers, an independent and active in the financial sector and non-banks. Rogers has also increased its interest in the emerging area of real estate since 2007, through the creation of an entity property Foresite dedicated to the management and development of this activity.
